Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have a rare disease but no diagnosis. Can I participate?

A: Yes, but we can not help you get a diagnosis directly.

Our aim is to develop an “expert” tool that your doctor will be able to use to aid diagnoses of rare disorders. Obviously, we first need to be sure this is as accurate possible and this will take some time. We will do this as quickly as possible, but when it does become available it will need to be delivered through your normal health care providers.

Q: I don’t have any disease. Can I participate?

A: Yes, and especially if you have a family member with a diagnosed disease who is participating. We want to teach the computer to understand how faces are similar within families so it can look past this to spot the changes that have to do with disease.
